About the programme:
The Bhagavad Gita says, Life is a Challenge – Meet it. Life is full of ups and downs and our challenges can sometimes feel insurmountable.
Whether our challenges are personal – paying the bills, ill health, loss of a job, loss of loved ones, or global – environmental disasters, the News or the state of the world and so on we are tossed around by all that life throws at us.
We are often driven by the desire for success or fear of failure, in our professional or personal lives. The Bhagavad Gita teaches us to focus on our actions and duties, rather than being overly worried about the outcomes.
This approach leads us to a more fulfilling life, free from the anxieties of constant expectation. Through Yoga we can be aware of our inner world, to go within and connect with something greater than ourselves.
As we establish ourselves in this inner unity and tranquillity, we will experience Health, Happiness and Harmony.

About the tutor: Swami Vedantananda Saraswati discovered yoga in the early seventies through a lunchtime television programme and from that began attending classes run by the local adult education authorities. This led to studying with many teachers from all over the U.K and Europe and becoming a yoga teacher herself.
In London, in 1983, she met her Guru, Swami Satyananda Saraswati. She says of that meeting “My life changed dramatically at that moment; I knew I had met a master. “
Since that turning point in her life she has taught yoga in many areas of society, specialising in teaching yoga to children, In-Service and Yoga Teacher Training.
Swami Satyananda Saraswati is an internationally recognised and respected master. He was a disciple of Swami Sivananda Saraswati of Rishikesh and gave his life to the upliftment of humankind. He was an inspiration and guiding light to thousands of spiritual aspirants around the world.
Swami Vedantananda moved to Portugal in 2006 and with willing help from family, friends and karma yogis developed a retreat space for people to come on organised or personal retreats away from the world and all its craziness.
She is a respected and much-loved yoga teacher whose humour shines through her love of living yoga. Her teaching is recognised by its practical and down to earth approach.
